群前置詞 together with の中心イメージ ― 〜とひとまとまりになって
together with は「あるものと一緒に、ひとまとまりになって」という中心イメージで捉えると整理しやすい表現です。along with とほぼ同じ意味で、人と一緒に行動する場合にも、物を付け加えたり同封したりする場合にも使われます。
このイメージをもとに、人と一緒に行動する→人との同伴（together with her staff／together with his parents）、物を一緒に送る・提出する→物の追加・同封（together with the receipts／together with your photo）というように整理できます。書類や手続きの場面では「〜を添えて」という意味でよく使われます。
文法上の注意点として、「主語, together with 〜, 動詞…」という形では、動詞の単数・複数は原則として主語に合わせ、together with 以下の名詞には左右されません。例えば「Tom, together with his parents, is coming tomorrow.」では、parents が複数でも主語が Tom（単数）なので is を使います。along with・as well as と同じ性質です。
なお、together だけでも「一緒に」の意味で使われます。get together with friends（友達と集まる）のように、get together という動詞のまとまりの後ろに with 句が続く形は、このページで扱う together with とは区別して理解してください。
人との同伴を表す together with のフレーズ
スタッフ・両親・大臣・クラスメートなど、人やグループと一緒に行動することを表すグループです。主語の後ろにコンマで挟み込む形がよく使われます。
The manager, together with her staff, welcomed the guests.

領収書・写真・請求書・地図など、物を一緒に送る・提出する・届けることを表すグループです。
